Craft Tutorial Modge Podge Perpetual Calendar

Photobucket

So as one of my new years resolutions I want to do crafts! At least one a month, here is Februarys... The Perpetual calendar from WOODSHED.

First you get or make the wood set... I got mine from WOODSHED on Etsy,

then I picked out three 8x12 scrapbook paper from my local craft store, (one fun pattern for the holder-

one plain or simple and small print pattern for the month blocks

and one coordinating pattern for the number blocks.

grabbed my modge podge, a paint brush and a razor blade.

First I traced the wooden frame onto the back side of the paper so I could cut it out to fit perfectly. (be sure to cut inside the lines) I number the back of the paper and the location I traced so I know what goes where...

Then paint the wood with modge podge

Apply the cut paper and make sure you hold down for a min. if you get too much modge podge the corners curl up!

Photobucket

Then after it has time to dry, you use the razor blade being very careful cutting on an angle from from front to back (otherwise it will rip through the pattern of the paper)

Photobucket

Once all the paper is attached, you decide how you want to do your numbers and letters... I piked vinyl and had a friend cut me the months and coordinating numbers, but you can just paint your numbers and months on, or free hand write them, or trace them on paper and rub it on then you can just trace it... there are many ways... I found Vinyl to be the fastest and easiest.

If you plan on painting them on, then do that step next!!! **RIGHT HERE** (then carry on with final coat after your paint has dried)

IF you use vinyl like me, then coated the entire project for the final time with an even layer of modge podge (no worries it dries clear)

Photobucket

Then you can add your vinyl.

AND your done! Wasn't that easy?

Thanks Wayne for letting me get a set and blog about your wonderful shop ... Giveaway for your own set coming up!!!
